June 5th is World Environment Day, aimed at raising global awareness about the need to take positive environmental action. It is run by the United Nations Environment Programme. This year’s theme is ‘Green Economy: Does it include you?’
As the economy is such an important influence in environmental impacts, it is important that everyone understands their own small footprint and how to influence the market to creating a better, less harmful economy. Giving up meat, installing solar panels, buying organic/free range/cruelty free– there are so many ways to influence the economic process for the better.
