National Tree Day

In Australia, the last weekend in July is National Tree Day. It is a time for communities to come together to plant trees and nurture plants.

There are many local councils, businesses, schools and community groups gathering in parks, schools and reserves to bring some more green to the scene. Trees are amazingly beneficial on many levels and planting them is a great activity and a great legacy for you and your family.

Want to help the environment? Plant a tree. Want to provide habitat for wildlife? Want to bring more oxygen into the air and remove pollution? Want to reduce summer temperatures? Want to help reduce erosion and storm water runoff? Want the sick to heal faster, the crime rate to drop? Yes, yes, yes, plant more trees!
